ACHYUT DESAI, OD

Achyut Desai, OD, is a dedicated optometrist serving the Schaumburg, IL community with compassionate, patient-focused eye care. Dr. Desai is a graduate of James B. Conant High School. Upon graduation he earned a Bachelor of Arts at the University of Illinois at Chicago. He also furthered his education and earned a Masters in Business Administration from UIC. He finished in 2009 as a graduate in optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry. Dr. Desai also completed a Primary Care and Ocular Disease residency at the Illinois Eye Institute. Dr. Desai brings over 16 years of experience in providing comprehensive vision care, from routine eye exams to diagnosing and managing a wide range of eye conditions including glaucoma, diabetes and macular degeneration.

Known for his personalized approach and attention to detail, Dr. Desai is committed to helping patients achieve and maintain optimal eye health. He stays up-to-date with the latest advancements in optometric technology to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans tailored to each patient’s needs.

When he's not in the office, Dr. Desai enjoys golfing, bowling, and watching sports. His friendly and approachable nature helps create a comfortable environment for patients of all ages.

SNEHALI UPADHYAY, OD

Dr. Upadhyay is a proud alumna of James B. Conant High School and is honored to provide care in the community where she was raised. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Illinois at Chicago and received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry in 2009.

While at ICO, Dr. Upadhyay was inducted into the Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society in recognition of her academic excellence. She is also a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO), a distinction awarded to optometrists who demonstrate a commitment to continued clinical excellence and professional development.

Following her graduation, Dr. Upadhyay completed a Postdoctoral Residency in Primary Care and Ocular Disease at the Illinois Eye Institute. There, she gained advanced training in the diagnosis and management of glaucoma, retinal conditions, and other ocular diseases. She went on to join the clinical faculty at the Illinois Eye Institute. As a clinical instructor, she enjoyed mentoring and educating future optometrists.

With over 16 years of experience, Dr. Upadhyay has been dedicated to providing full-scope optometric care through her private practice, proudly serving patients of all ages in the local community.

Dr. Upadhyay is fluent in English, Gujarati, and Hindi, which allows her to connect with and care for a diverse patient population.

Outside the office, she enjoys hiking and biking with her husband and two children. More recently, she has developed a passion for yoga and loves spending quality time on DIY projects with her daughter and son.
